Operationalizing Urban Resilience to Floods in Island Territories—Application in Punaauia, French Polynesia

In the context of climate change and increasing urbanization, Small Island Developing States are increasingly vulnerable to natural disasters. response urbanization in at risk areas, concept territorial resilience has potential as an approach urban flood issues. The objective this research is develop a spatial decision support tool based on collaborative assessment method resilience. proposed methodology consists of: adaptation French Polynesian context, three existing methods applied case study Punaruu Valley’s (Punaauia, Polynesia) use geovisualization techniques: GIS for data processing analysis, visualization, mapping model processing. This integrates technical, social components territory, while highlighting various levers available improve facilitate its understanding through work efforts visual tool. results demonstrate reproducibility these assessing Polynesia.
